Black Panthers ? Mountain Lions in Pa. ? Yes there have been rumored sightings for many years.

Were they house hold pets released int the wild or people just misidentifying big feral house cats there has been persistent rumors of large mountain lion size cats and black panthers. as recently as this year of a black panther along Indiana Road in Penn Hills which a freind of mine clams to have seen a very large black type cat bolt across the road and up a tree.
So whats the truth?

http://hoothollow.com/Question%20of%20the%20Month/January-February%202012%20Is%20there%20a%20Puma%20Conspiracy.html
So many weird sightings of animals and creatures in Pa. its hard to keep track of them all.
that there are several groups formed in Pa over the years who study the phenomena.

So what is going on are there really Big foots and black Pumas and Mountain Lions in Pa;s woods
ask any hunter and many have strange stories of things they have encountered in the woods and while experts are quick to dismiss sightings as mis-identifications Im not so willing to knowing just how thick and deep and dark our forests are in this state and having my self seen animals moving about at night which are unusually large . Like the Squirrel I have in my back yard thats as big as a ground hog.
So until some one kills one and brings t forth or can provide solid photo evidence it will be  just a wild tale or is it.

  1. Me and my family say a black panther/mountain lion years ago in the woods behind the house I grew up in it came off the hill and into a small clearing where we had an old junk 1982 cutlass and it was about as tall as the hood and fender which is probably around 2.5 to 3 feet tall with a long curved tail we were probably only 25 yards away and I know what I say it continued down through the woods and we lost sight of it it was about 4 in the after noon in the spring so it was plenty daylight out also

  2. I think I saw a black panther back in 2012. I was going to a purple party and it was at some apartments with a wooded area on one side. The place was not more than 25-35 mins from King of Prussia. When we parked and were trying too locate the apt where the event was being held I looked off to my left and about two blocks away in a parking garage I saw a huge black muscular cat. It stopped and I was careful not to move though it was a distance away I figured it could still run very fast. It then walked briskly through the back part of the garage and I made my way quickly to the apt.

  3. I was taking our 3 dobies for their nightly run after dinner, and we were up in the field behind the West End Fair Grounds, in Kunkletown, PA. This great big black cat/panther woke up, and streched its front legs in that curl that cats do. Then it stood up, and watched my dogs, and it was pitch black with a long tail that touched the ground and cured. It was big and beautiful, it's coat glistening in the setting sun. I yelled for the Alpha female and the other two came running with her...to me...and we took off, as I feared the cat might come after the dogs for supper. It didn't chase us though. At the time I thought it was someone's pet that got loose, it showed no fear, just curiosity. That was over 22 years ago...since then, I've seen a whole lot of other reports of sightings...plus I heard they've also been sighted out in Daniel Boone National Forest.
