Seems some Railroad employees never left their jobs at The Former P&LE railroad station in Pittsburgh ?

Now known as the Grand Concourse at Station Square the former Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad Head Quarters and Station  at Smithfeild and W. Carson St. has been a familiar Pittsburgh landmark since 1898

It served  Both Passenger and Freight Service and in the early 80s  the twice a day passenger service from beaver Falls Pa stopped and the line eventually became part of the enormous CSX Rail  Service.

But in 1970s the whole complex of  freight and office structures started transforming into  a retail Complex .

The massive passenger terminal which was huge ,dark and scary inside due to its beautiful stained glass windows being painted over during WWII to avoid light during blackouts was transformed into a beautiful Grand Concourse Restaurant with rental offices upstairs

and Railroad freight building turned into the station square shops. Which has transformed over the years to now mostly office space .

But it seems some of those who passed thru and worked at the station have decided to stay behind.

I went to meet with an individual from a 3rd party toll phone service  about getting better  toll service rates  for my customers their in 80s and He told me how often doors would open and close by them selves people could be heard in halls and no one there and other spooky things like in the restaurant area the water faucets would turn on by themselves.

Even further back when a friend of mine worked for the railroad in accounting he told of same type of  odd stuff happening so its not been brought on by the changes but has perhaps increased none of it malevolent. Just trying to get your attention.

I know of no tragedy in building or other activity's that would have brought about the activity ,but before it was a train yard it served as the site of the first  stone built  Pig Iron furnace in Western Pa as well as glass making works so maybe the ghosts are from that period as there where often

many accidents in those times.

The other possibility are the ghosts of those who perished in a horrifying trolley accident right in front of the property in December 24, 1917 a total 21 people died when a trolley lost its brakes and came flying out of the nearby transit tunnel.

Whoever or whatever it is that causes the paranormal activity . There is very little to be found about it .

So go and enjoy a Fantastic dinner and enjoy the exceptional spirits the restaurant has on hand and if your lucky you might run into one of the others.
